The Fourth International Childhood Cancer Cohort Consortium (I4C) Workshop focused on Progress in the I4C: Investigating Hypotheses and the Development of New Cohorts.
A special welcome was extended to investigators leading or collaborating in infant/childhood cohorts not currently participating in the consortium. Epidemiologists, pediatricians, laboratory scientists, and other investigators with a particular interest in studying postulated environmental, lifestyle, molecular, and genetic risk factors for pediatric cancer were encouraged to register for this meeting. In total, 43 participants from 11 countries participated in the workshop.
The purpose of this two-day workshop was to discuss the progress of this consortium and to identify next steps. Presentations covered:
- Progress made from the I4C Epigenetic and Environmental working groups initiated as a result of discussions during the 2009 workshop
- Progress from ongoing collaborations testing I4C-related hypotheses and new collaborations
- Discussion on the harmonization of data both within and beyond the I4C.
