 Carey Ehlert, MD

​Dr. Ehlert is currently an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and a practicing Neonatologist at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Originally from Omaha, Nebraska, she received her medical degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) in 1997 and stayed at UNMC/Creighton University to complete her residency in Pediatrics in 2000. She then pursued a fellowship in Neonatology and graduated from the Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City in 2003. She is board certified in General Pediatrics and Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine. She joined the Medical College of Wisconsin in 2004 and is part of a large academic practice that provides neonatal services at five hospitals in the Milwaukee area, including Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. Dr. Ehlert has been involved with the National Children’s Study since 2006 as both a Community Outreach and Medical Outreach Community representative with the Wisconsin Vanguard Study Center. She has a special interest in medical education and serves as medical director for a Level 2 NICU in the Milwaukee area.
