National Children’s Study
Dr. Lopez-Class has worked for over 10 years conducting research with minority and underserved populations. Her work primarily focuses on multiple levels of influence, including individual, interpersonal (for example, social support/networks), community, and institutional-based disparities with an emphasis on community assessment, outreach, and health service utilization. Most recently, with funding from the National Cancer Institute, Dr. Lopez-Class conducted both qualitative and quantitative research at Georgetown University, focusing on the development of a comprehensive cultural scale and on examining effective recruitment strategies for enrolling Latino males in tobacco cessation-based interventions. Dr. Lopez-Class serves as a Contracting Officer Representative for the National Children’s Study.
