Meeting Objectives
National Children’s Study Advisory Committee (NCSAC) Members will work with Co-Chairs of the Working Groups within thematic areas to discuss the following:
- Adequacy of the thematic areas proposed by the Interagency Coordinating Committee (ICC)
- Concerns about ICC working hypotheses
- Responses or additions to Study Design Working Group (SDWG) comments comments on the ICC themes and working hypotheses
- Questions from the NCSAC and ICC
- Increased specificity about exposures and how and when they are measured
- Increased specificity about outcomes and how and when they are measured
- Identification of gaps in the current hypotheses
- Definition of health or healthy development within each of the outcome specific Working Groups and within the thematic areas.
Products from the meeting will be consensus between Working Group and NCSAC Members concerning the work needed on the hypotheses, and enhancements--or modifications--of the thematic areas before the March Advisory Committee meeting (note that Working Group Co-Chairs are also invited to participate in the March Advisory Committee Meeting). A goal of the meeting will be to reach agreement and to seek recommendations by the NCSAC on assignments between Working Groups, the ICC, and the Program Office.

BREAKOUT SESSIONS |
| This is an opportunity for Advisory Committee Members and Working Group Members to work collaboratively on the thematic areas and hypotheses within those areas. Working Group Members may want to participate in more than one thematic area for discussions. While the major focus will be discussion of the ICC document, Working Groups should feel free to refer to the more than 70 hypotheses that have been proposed and discussed by the Advisory Committee. A goal of this working session is development of an action plan and identification of responsible groups so that the Advisory Committee will be able to recommend themes and initial hypotheses framing the Study to Dr. Alexander at the end of the March Advisory Committee Meeting. |
