Adjunct Studies Review Group 


Role and Responsibilities  

The Adjunct Studies Review Group (ASRG) will review all adjunct study proposals. Members’ areas of expertise will span a variety of disciplines in the physical and social sciences. Standing members of the Review Group will be selected on a rotating basis. Ad hoc members will be called upon periodically for specific reviews within their areas of expertise. 

Collectively, the members represent: 

  • Scientific and research expertise to review proposed adjunct studies for scientific value as well as  scientific and logistic fit with the National Children’s Study, proposed study design, burden to participants, burden to Study infrastructure, and human subjects considerations  
  • Advocacy for the Study participants and the Study infrastructure regarding potential added burden and any other human subjects’ issues imposed by the proposed adjunct study
  • Understanding the core protocol as well as current and future Study needs in order to prioritize adjunct study proposals. Considerations may include:
    • Offers new or better ways to address core hypothesis/es
    • Enables expansion of core hypothesis/es
    • Leverages unique characteristics of the National Children’s Study.
